Abstract: It studies the trapping process of hyperthermal particles impacted on metal substrate by molecular dynamics simulations. Results show that, for normal incidence, the trapping probability decreases with increasing of the incident energy, while for 45° incidence, the trapping probability displays a non-monotonic behavior as observed in the recent experiment. The dependence of the trapping probability on the incident angle has also been investigated.
