Numerical simulation of melting in an enclosure with discrete protruding heat sources

Abstract: The enthalpy method is employed to numerical simulation of melting heat transfer in an enclosure with three discrete protruding heat sources on one of its vertical walls and all the other walls insulated.Numerical results have been compared with previous experimental results.It is found that discrete protruding heat sources have important influence on the shape of melting interface.
