MODIFIED BOUNDARY ELEMENT TECHNIQUE FOR EIGENVALUE PROBLEMS

Abstract: A modified boundary element technique is proposed for the investigation of eigenvalue problems. In the approach, the foundamental solution corresponding to Laplace's equation is employed for Helmholtz's equation, thus the matrices in the formed boundary equation implicitly contain no eigen parameter. Therefore, this method only requires a small computer memory, and decreases the computation time.
