THE LUMPED MASS FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR TWO-DIMENSIONAL SHALLOW WATER WAVE PROBLEM

Abstract: The lumped mass finite element method for two-dimensional unsteady flow is introduced. This method and the method in[1] are used in calculating the flow velocities and tide for the north branch of Yangtze River.The numerical result shows that the lumped mass finite element melhod need much less time and memory than the method[1] and retain previous accuracy.
