THE STOKES FLOW IN AN ORIFICE WITH AN OBSTACLE AT ITS AXIS
Chen Yao-Song, Cao Nian-Zheng, Chen Yan
CHINESE JOURNAL OF COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS    1988, 5 (1): 9-15.
Abstract185)      PDF (380KB)(970)
The flexibility of the F.E.M has been used to study the flow in a very complex flow region, which includes pipe, obstacle and half infinite space. In order to minimize the number of elements in the infinite domain, similar elements, are settled in it and have been canceled but one in advance of calculation. The whole method is effective and the calculated result is reasonable.

COMPUTATIONAL SIMULATION OF THE SURFACE GRAVITY WAVE AND THE FORCE ACTING ON A FLAT PLATE AFTER ITS IMPACT ON A WAFER SURFACE
Chen Yao-Song, Kuo Dong-jian
CHINESE JOURNAL OF COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS    1986, 3 (1): 23-30.
Abstract208)      PDF (417KB)(926)
The phenomena caused by the impact of a free falling flat plate on a water surface are investigated numerically. The computational method designed Shows its versatile ability for simulating the transient surface gravity wave propagation as well as the time varying force acting on the flat plate.

A AXISYMMETRIC FINGERING PROBLEM SOLVED BY FEM
Cao Nian-zheng, Chen Yao-song
CHINESE JOURNAL OF COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS    1985, 2 (4): 462-468.
Abstract186)      PDF (391KB)(962)
A low Reynolds unmber flow in a pipe with an air plug is studied by FEM, The incompressibility is treated with penalty function. The nonlinear free surface is found by iteration of its position with updated critical streamline,The ultimate free surface and its relative plug radius β=0.645 is obtained and seems very nice as compared to experimental values.
