By using Saul'yev asymmetric schemes, the group implicit method is developed for the nonlinear heat equation appearing in laser physics, which has the obvious property of parallelism. Numerical experiments show that the new method has the similar accuracy with the known implicit method, and the numbers of iteration in both cases are nearly the same.

In this paper,we consider the numerical methods for solving convection problems and convection-dominated diffusion problems on the basis of combining the method of characteristics with finite difference method we presented two numerical schemes. Some numerical results are also given.

In this paper, A modified Dennis scheme for the steady-state convection-diffusion equation is proposed. Elementry analysis and numerical computation for model problem show that, the highly inaccurate behaviour of Dennis scheme is corrected by modified Dennis scheme.
