Abstract: We investigate the effect of nonlinear curvature on vibrations of an elastic simple supported beam and roller with large deflection.A set of nonlinear integro-differential.equations is derived by use of Galerkin approximation.Computations show that the system has interesting dynamical behaviors such as cusp catastrophe and chaos.
