THE NUMERICAL SIMULATION FOR PRECURSOR OF AN EARTHQUAKE USING THE MODIFIED BURRIDGE-KNOPOFF MODEL

Abstract: Two meaningful modifications,nonlinearity and inhomogeneity,for Rurride-Knopoff model are provided.The precursor of an earthquake is simulated by using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method.The results obtained are similar to the Tangshan M7.8 earthquake.
