THE WAVELET TRANSFORM AND ITS APPLICATION TO EARTH ROTATION STUDIES

Abstract: The wavelet transform is a new type of data analysis method frequently used in recent studies of the Earth rotation.It is especially good at the regional signal analysis,the signal-noise separation and the detection of jumping signals. The synthetic description is provided for the basic theory of wavelet transform,its edge effect and related improvement,as well as the applications of wavelet transform to earth rotation are studied.
