Abstract: The pseudo-current method is outlined proposed by Marder B for eliminating charge conservation errors in electromagnetic particle-in-cell codes. The new method is shown to be effective in removing charge errors by the choice of current deposition algorithms. In addition, a new model for field emission from conducting boundary surfaces is described. This model is proved to be practicable by the results of the particle simulation of plasma erosion opening switch involving complex field emission boundaries.
